Sunday afternoon.

Janet sat on the chaise lounge, halfway through an excellent paperback. Her feet were bare; the cool breeze through the window chilling her toes. Sam came in, carrying two glasses of lemonade. She handed one to Janet, kissing the brunette on the corner of her mouth before sitting next to the chaise and leaning her head on Janet's shoulder.

Cassandra wandered through on her cell, retrieving a can of soda from the fridge and disappearing upstairs again. Janet took Sam's hand and they drank their lemonade. "What are you smiling at?" Sam whispered.

"I've discovered the meaning of life." Janet replied.
