Janet opened the door, smiling at the pillow Sam held. "Hey," Janet said, leaning against the doorframe.

"Hi," Sam smiled, trying her best to be nonchalant. "Thought I'd have another slumber party with Cass. You know... if she needs help with her homework or something."

Janet smirked. "Sam... You don't need to use Cassandra as an excuse if you want to come over."

"Am I that transparent?" Sam's shoulders sagged.

"Sorry to break it to you." Janet grinned. "Cass isn't even here."

"Oh." She started to turn away, but Janet stopped her.

"You can still come in."

Sam turned.

"If you want."
