Janet Fraiser was in her favorite armchair in her favorite faded sweatshirt, feet clad in her fuzzy warm socks, eyeglasses perched on her nose, half-done crossword puzzle draping her chest, paperback book on the table laying spine-up to mark her place.

She was, after an afternoon of pampering herself, blissfully napping.

There was something to be said for solitude, she mused as she woke slowly from a pleasant dream, smiling into the Saturday afternoon sunlight streaming through the window onto her chair.
