The sky and ocean were opposing shades of blue. Janet stood at the edge of the water, letting the tide wash over her bare feet. She laughed and ran on her toes, trying to get out of the water over the hot white sand and to her blanket.

She wore a wide-brimmed hat, which she held on top of her head, and big black sunglasses. Her bikini was small, hiding nothing but her most sensitive bits. At Janet's request, Sam applied suntan lotion to her lover's back and shoulders.

Janet closed her eyes, praying the day would never end.

Sam prayed the same.
