She healed the wounds. She set the bones. She sewed them up and sent them back out to get hurt again. She salved the burns, the bandaged the scrapes and she soothed the sore muscles.

She only let it get to her at night, far away from the infirmary. It was the only time allowed to her and her alone. Her pillows were her sole confidant. Nightly, she dressed in her pajamas and sat on the floor, hugging her knees as she sobbed.

Pain, discomfort, death, injury. They all relied on her and expected her to fix it.

Who would fix her?
