Samantha Carter was sitting next to a doctor named Jack. She'd chuckled about it when he introduced himself, but they'd said very little to each other after take-off. She stood, passing the flight attendants as she went to the bathroom, choosing the one at the back of the plane.

As she settled herself in the small cubicle, the plane trembled violently. She braced herself, knowing turbulence was part of the deal when flying. Nothing to worry about. She exhaled and began to do her business.

Seconds later, the tail of the plane was torn away and she found herself airborne.
