I hate the snow.

It's cold, first of all. You freeze your ass off sitting in the car waiting for it to heat up. All the windows have to be scraped of ice. By the time you get your coffee from Starbucks you're already worried about hypothermia.

I turn away from the frosted window, stewing in my anger at the weather. I stomp into the den... and see Janet in the armchair.

She's made a fire, curled under the comforter and reading a novel. She smiles and invites me in next to her.

I crawl under the comforter, embrace her and smile.

I love the snow.
