Notes: Like lab_brat, I used the first pairing to come up on the generator. :-) I'm not terribly happy with this one, as the challenge got lost and this "pairing" (if you see it as a pairing) needs a lot more than 100 words to explore it.

Sam lifted her head from her notations and smiled at the intruder. "Hey," she said softly, her voice almost lost. "What time is it?"

"Almost three," Catherine replied softly, placing a mug of coffee in front of Sam. As Sam drank, Catherine wrapped her arms around the young scientist's shoulders and squeezed.

Sam let herself be hugged. Between her fiance, her father and her brother, she wasn't used to being shown affection. She closed her eyes, leaning against Catherine. She whispered, "Hug me harder."

Catherine did as Sam asked, knowing the woman's sad history. The mystery of the Stargate could wait.
