Sam smiled at the teen as she babbled on about her new friend Sarah. She'd been invited to sleep over at the other girl's house on Friday and Janet, looking forward to Sam staying over in the girl's absence, had said yes. As Cassandra ran over the list of what she needed - sleeping bag, pajamas, etc. - Sam and Janet couldn't stop smiling.

"So," Sam said during a lull in the conversation. "What kind of games are you guys going to play?"

"I dunno," Cassie admitted. "What games do you and Mom play when you sleep over?"

Janet choked on a Cheerio.
