The Faculty
Principal Cecilia Hall
A firm-but-fair kindly sort, Cecila lost her sight to diabetes four years ago, though her sense of smell has improved in compensation. Attending rehabilitation classes she met her husband, Olaf, a large, bald, soft-spoken, younger black man. She smokes, though has tried to give up, as the stress of the job is getting to her. Perhaps this is the reason she had left by the end of the first season. After all, she did say: "We're four days into the semester and already I've had to deal with two pregnancies and a knife confiscation. If this keeps up at this pace I'll be on heroin by Christmas."
Vice-Principal Calvin Krupps
Introduced late in season one, he had become acting principal by the end of the season and taken the position permanently in season two. A young, prevention-is-better-than-cure type, he is a devotee of Tai Chi, inner peace and personal development. He is the nephew of lunch lady Vera Krupps, whom he used as an informant to nip trouble in the bud. The cheerleaders took an immediate shine to him, but he resisted their charms, and made Brooke face the unpleasant truth about her actions when she used him to make Josh jealous. He chopped Nicole from the Glamazons over her dodgy knee. He rejected her attempt at seduction and banned her for the season. She then attempted to blackmail him to get back in and was suspended for a week and banned for a year. His plan to drop the yearbook due to falling sales was opposed by Sam and Carmen, but he wouldn't spend any money to save it, for he was planning a new theatre and needed to save money. The consequent need to cut an extra-curricular activity gave Nicole an opportunity to make her comeback, and soon Calvin was swearing her into office as student body president.
Roberta (Bobbi/Bob/Bio/Claw) Glass
See Profile #12 for details.
Luke Grant
The Journalism teacher is a young, with-it, surfer dude type. Somewhat vain - he claims his blond highlights are natural - he was the object of Sam's crush. "Please, Mr Grant and I are just buds. I just admire him for marching to his own drummer. He gets it." Something he seemed oblivious of. He foolishly accepted her invitation to dinner. He then crushed Sam by disliking her new nose stud and introducing her to his girlfriend, Heather, a waitress at the restaurant. Nicole then accused him of impropriety with Sam to get back at her. He was suspended but subsequently reinstated in time to caution Sam over the Bio-cheating affair. "It's not the truth until you have proof," was his sage advice.
Wayne Vincent
The flamboyant Drama teacher in charge of the school musical was determined that last year's flop, Brigadoon, would not be repeated. Popular leading man, Josh Ford, would see to that. But he clashed with Josh's coach and leaked the football budget to Sam to see him off. The resulting scandal lead to his sacking when the facts came out. He subsequently became a wedding planner and was involved in the McWedding.
Francis Peritti
Coach of the football team and totally opposed to Josh appearing in the musical. He was replaced in the junior year by Casey Krupps (brother of Calvin) who got a job for, then dated, Jean Ford.
[Name Unknown]
The Humanities teacher is something of an enigma. Keen to encourage communication, understanding and individuality, the only thing we learn about her was from the coach. "You're a lot more fun when you drink, Canada." [The actress, Sandra Oh, is a Canadian of Korean origin.]
Madame Sesi
She is the French teacher and, er, that's it.
Ms Ross
The English teacher who replaced Mr Vincent as the director of South Pacific, ably assisted by Gina, her silent sidekick. She also mounted a production of Equus, and was the judge in the trial of Emory Dick.
[Colin?] Bennett
Teaches English Literature. He's openly gay, been out for five years, but is insecure. He felt he couldn't support Ms Debbie in case he lost his job as well.
Don/Debbie Jackson
The popular Shop teacher caused a rumpus when he began to publicly cross-dress in preperation for his transition to the female sex. Harrison organised a campaign of support, but a special meeting of the School Board fired him.
Mrs Herlihey
The Home Economics teacher was never seen, but her temporary replacement was. Cherry Cherry had to perform community service for assaulting a police officer, and this was it.
Donald Dave
The new Chemistry teacher just had time to introduce himself and his Montesori methods of no homework and no tests, when he was arrested for dealing in illegal 'crush' videos. Ms Glass then replaced her replacement.
Bonnie
Brooke took to the SAT preperation advisor at once, they seemed to have a lot in common, but Bonnie ended up drunk and in jail after some extra-curricular instruction and that's the last we saw of her.
Jean Ford
She was the Guidance Councellor in the junior year until she got a better job elsewhere.
