NOTE: Hmm… I should probably put these little vignette things together into a single story. Oh well.

After another long day of school, Kitty headed back to her locker to put away her stuff. The school hallways were empty since everybody else had already gone home. When Kitty arrived at her locker, she discovered that at least most students were gone, but not everyone. Rogue was leaning against the wall, her arms crossed in front of her chest. A small smile played across her lips.

Kitty opened her locker and put away her books. “Hey Rogue.”

“Hey yourself,” Rogue responded. “What took you?”

Kitty shrugged as she closed her locker again. “I still had some things to do. You know how it is.”

Rogue nodded.

“So, ready to go?” Kitty asked.

“Not yet,” Rogue answered.

“Why not?”

Rogue uncrossed her arms and stood free from the wall. “You’ve been hiding something from me, haven’t you?”

“What?” Kitty asked. She hoped her voice wasn’t shaking. Rogue hadn’t… No, she couldn’t.

Rogue slowly started to take off her gloves. “You want me, don’t you sugar?”

“What? No,” Kitty squeaked.

“You’re such a bad liar,” Rogue said, reaching out to stroke Kitty’s cheek. “But don’t worry, I got a couple of things up my sleeve as well.”

“What do you me…” Kitty didn’t finish the sentence, since something more important had managed to grab hold of her attention. “You touched me.”

Rogue nodded. “Did you like it?”

“Yes.”

Rogue smiled mischievously. “Then you’re gonna love this.”

Rogue stepped in close and moved her lips towards Kitty. For a few moments, Kitty couldn’t believe it. Rogue wasn’t doing this, was she? She wasn’t going to kiss her, she couldn’t kiss her.

Rogue’s lips brushed against Kitty’s and nothing unpleasant happened.

Kitty pulled Rogue as close to her as she could, deepening the kiss even further. She wanted to know how Rogue was suddenly able to control her power. But she didn’t want to know that now. There were more important things right now.

Kitty gasped softly when Rogue slipped her hand into the girl’s pants.

“You want me bad, don’t you?” Rogue whispered.

Kitty nodded, not trusting herself to say anything coherent. Rogue started moving around inside Kitty’s panties. It didn’t take her long to find her clitoris.

“Oh God,” Kitty moaned as Rogue started circling her clit. “Don’t stop.”

“I don’t intend to.”

Rogue opened her eyes and looked into the darkness. She was a light sleeper. The tiniest of sounds could wake her up. It was probably a survival skill. You didn’t want to be fast asleep when some anti-mutant bigot entered your bedroom in the middle of the night.

Then again, Rogue also didn’t like waking up every time Kitty had a erotic dream.

When her eyes had adjusted to the darkness, Rogue looked over to her roommate. Kitty was writhing and moaning. She was asleep, but it looked she was making love to a ghost. Rogue sighed and looked up at the ceiling. When Kitty had first woken her up a few weeks ago, Rogue had been terribly embarrassed. Now Kitty’s dreams only annoyed her since they kept her awake. Something obviously needed to be done if Rogue ever wanted a night of uninterrupted sleep ever again.

Freud had said that dreams were the playground of the subconscious, hadn’t he? So that probably meant that Kitty was a closet nymphomaniac or simply heavily in lust with just one person. Rogue quickly dismissed the ideas of nymphomania on the simple grounds that she didn’t really believe that there really was such a psychological disorder. So Kitty was lusting after someone. Rogue hadn’t really noticed Kitty flirting or gazing at anyone the past weeks. So, if she wasn’t actively pursuing anyone the logical conclusion was that it was one of those forbidden fruit type things.

It could be Scott. He was pretty good-looking. And he was with Jean.

Then again, it could also be Logan. After all, you didn’t get much more forbidden than that.

Rogue and Kitty groaned simultaneously, albeit for widely different reasons. Rogue groaned because she figured she didn’t have a chance in Hell to figure out who Kitty was so attracted to.

Rogue turned onto her side, her back towards Kitty, hoping to get a little more sleep in.

It was breakfast time at the mansion. Rogue sat between Kurt and Jean, but somehow managed to look like she was well away from everyone. There was a lively conversation going on, one that Rogue didn’t participate in. Kitty, on the other hand, was conversing happily and seemingly uninhibited. Rogue thought it a bit odd, sitting so close to someone you had a very heated dream about last night and not being freaked out in the slightest. So either Kitty had already forgotten her dream, which seemed unlikely, or the person she wanted simply wasn’t here.

Kitty caught Rogue staring at her. Rogue’s first impulse was to look away. She suppressed it. Kitty gave Rogue a small smile, tucked a bit of stray hair behind her ear and looked away again, her cheeks a bit flushed.

Rogue frowned. It hadn’t been the reaction she had expected from Kitty. Then again, she didn’t really know what she had expected.

Kitty glanced over at Rogue, smiling a little. She tucked another strand of hair away, even though it wasn’t there.

Something cold and heavy dropped into Rogue’s stomach as she realised something.

Forbidden fruit indeed.
