Olivia Benson sat in the court room trying to give ADA Casey Novak some support. John Beeson was on trial for murder, but seeing as how he had Alzheimer's and was sixty-nine years old, the chance he would be indicted were very slim.

It also wasn't helping that Olivia had confessed to Casey that the reason they couldn't make love was that every ADA Olivia had ever gotten close to had ended up dead.

"Still," Olivia thought. "She's doing pretty well up there."

"I call to the stand, Detective Olivia Benson," The defendant's attorney called out to the court.

"WHAT!!!?" Casey yelled, "WHAT DOES OLIVIA HAVE TO DO WITH THIS CASE AT ALL!!"

"I have to agree with Miss Novak," Judge Likin said calmly. "Detective Benson has nothing to do with this case. Unless you can prove the relevance of calling her to the stand, I'm afraid that I can't allow it. Approach."

Risen approached the judge's desk. "Your honor," he began. "You asked before this case started if both of us were in our right minds. Now I have reason to believe that Miss Novak is having a few problems right now. I wish to bring forward someone who sees her everyday to test her credibility. Test mine as well if you like."

Likin looked up at Casey. "All right."

Likin looked around and stated, "It seems that Miss Novak's credibility and state of mind have been called into question. I would like to test these now. Detective?"

Olivia had half a mind to grab Casey's hand and firmly say that her lover was in a perfect state of mind but then decided it was not the smartest thing to do in situations such as this.

Instead, she walked around, touched Casey's hand and stepped up to the stand.

"Detective, have you noticed any changes in Miss Novak's appearance?"

"Not besides cut hair."

"Attitude?"

"No."

"Any slips in her work?"

"No."

"Any missed days?"

"NO."

By now Olivia thought that if he asked one more question about changes in Casey she'd strangle him.

"Have you noticed if she seems a bit ... insane?"

"LISTEN!" Olivia finally snapped, "YOU BRING HER IN HERE TO DEFEND A DEAD CHILD!! NOW YOU TEST IF SHE'S INSANE? YOU KNOW, I THINK YOU'RE THE INSANE ONE! SHE'S FINE! YOU'RE NOT GONNA BE IF YOU LET THIS KILLER WALK BECAUSE YOU HAD AN ISSUE WITH A WOMAN WHO LAST NIGHT SAID SHE WOULDN'T SLEEP WITH YOU! I LIVE WITH CASEY AND THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON THAT ANY ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD QUESTION HER SANITY!"

"Detective, I think I hit a nerve. Did I?" Risen asked, almost innocently.

"Yeah, you did," Olivia said, breathlessly. "You did."

"You know," Risen said, before turning and talking to the jury. "They say that people who are homosexual have a chemical imbalance that makes them to change a lot of stuff about themselves, Miss Novak admitted to me that the reason she left me was because she was with Olivia. Sexually..."

He stopped speaking as Olivia took Casey's hand, stood her up, and walked out of the courtroom together.

"Liv, I could have taken care of my self in there," Casey said, once they were outside.

"I'm sorry it's just, I love you."

Olivia leaned in and stole a kiss from Casey's perfect lips and hoped that with Casey was where she could spend the rest of her life.
