Author’s Note: A song I will acknowledge at the end of the story inspired the prose at the beginning of this piece. I don’t want to give anything away by stating what it is.

Every time she looks at me-
I feel the love that shines
In her eyes.

I have made no
Mistakes

Not yet.

I am perfect

Even though I’m not

When she takes my hand
In hers, she trusts me
Like no other

She knows I’ll protect
Her ‘til my last
Breath

When she kisses me, my
World shrinks and
I think of only her

When I hold her in my arms-
My life feels complete

She is the missing part

I can only dream of
Our futures together

She is a wish I never
Dared to make

She is my dream come
True

She is my heart

While her mother is
My soul

“Oh my God Lena… that’s so beautiful,” Bianca said as tears ran down her face.

“You don’t think it’s too… sappy?”

“Oh no Baby,” Bianca said as she hugged Lena. “It’s amazing.”

“I can never thank you enough...”

“Hey,” Bianca pulled back so she could look into Lena’s face. “What did I say about that?”

“I know, but...”

“No. We’ve gone through this time and time again. She’s your daughter as much as she is mine. You’ve got to believe that... you’ve got to believe me.”

Lena searched Bianca’s eyes, looking for any signs of doubts – anything at all that would le! ad her to believe that Bianca wasn’t being one hundred percent truthful with her. All she saw was a reflection of the love she felt herself staring back at her.

Lena felt Bianca’s hand move up to the back of her head – running her fingers through her hair, which always made Lena shiver.

Lena had confessed to Bianca one evening while they had been watching television together, what it did to her. Bianca had had her arm around her shoulder, resting it on the back of the sofa when Lena had felt Bianca’s fingers in her hair. She couldn’t keep her eyes from fluttering close or keep her breath from catching.

Lena couldn’t believe how that simple gesture reduced her to a quivering mass of flesh.

It was something Bianca couldn’t help but notice and use – much to Lena’s delight as the aftermath proved to be very exhausting for both of them.

“Bianca...” Lena moaned as she stood up from the desk she had been writing at.

“Yes Baby,” answe! red smiling as she looked into Lena’s face.

“You know what that does to me...” Lena practically growled.

“Ummhmm,” Bianca murmured as she brought Lena’s face lower and captured her lips.

‘I so love this woman,’ Lena thought to herself as her lips parted allowing Bianca every opportunity to explore her mouth, while Lena’s hands explored Bianca’s body.

“Bedroom – Now!” Bianca’s gasped as Lena’s hands brushed across her breasts sending a bolt of desire throughout her body.

“Now,” Lena replied as she began to take Bianca’s shirt off.

Bianca moved backwards – her hands slipping under Lena’s blouse, touching the heated skin she craved – needed, more than air to survive.

“Wait,” Lena moaned when Bianca’s fingers worked their magic on her breasts.

“What?” Bianca muttered, wondering why Lena was putting the breaks on.

Lena reached behind her and closed the journal she was keeping for her little princess – t! heir daughter. She hoped when Sophia was older, she’d read it and realize how very lucky she was. Not only did she have two very loving parents – she had riches beyond compare.

She had family.

And that was worth all the money in the world.

Bianca watched as Lena closed the journal and smiled. When Lena turned around, Bianca kissed her – sweetly, gently, full of promise.

Lena could feel the shift in the passion that had begun to consume them. “Bianca?”

“Come on,” Bianca said taking her by the hand and led them out of the study, down the hall and into their daughter’s bedroom

They stopped at the end of the bed – both of them leaning against one another. They watched silently each of them wondering what their precious little girl was dreaming.

“Lena...”

“Yes my darling,” she replied softly.

“Make love to me...”

Lena squeezed Bianca tighter and led them out of the room. As Lena closed their bedroom door,! she took Bianca’s face in her hands and kissed her. “I’ll always make love to you my Angel... mother of my baby girl.”

“Show me,” Bianca whispered, tears of joy filling her eyes.

“Always.”

The End

Second Author’s Note: I’ve heard a song called, “In My Daughters Eyes,” which is sung by country artist Martina McBride and found on her cd “Martina”. You’ll find the lyrics after this. This song made me think of Lena, of what she might feel if she were able to raise the child with Bianca, something I’m not sure we’ll see on the show. On to the lyrics.

In My Daughter's Eyes
(James Slater)

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength! when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes
